Suzuki 250 HP Outboard for Sale: DF250T and DF250AP
The 250 HP class is where many offshore anglers settle, either as a single engine on a 7 to 8 metre centre console or as twins on something larger. Suzuki offers two V6 families at this rating: the DF250T with mechanical controls and the DF250AP with Suzuki Precision Control drive by wire. We stock a wide selection of both, so you can find the Suzuki 250 HP outboard for sale that matches your hull and rigging.
DF250 Versions in Stock
DF250T: mechanical controls
20 inch: DF250TLSS2. 25 inch: DF250TX2, DF250TXW2, DF250TXSS2, plus counter rotation DF250TXZ2 and DF250TXZW2. 30 inch: DF250TXX2, DF250TXXW2, DF250TXXZ2 and DF250TXXZW2.
DF250SST: sport editions
DF250SSTL2 and DF250SSTX2, sport styled versions favoured on performance and bay boats.
DF250AP: Suzuki Precision Control
DF250APX2, DF250APXW2, DF250APXX2 and DF250APXXW2.
Most models also appear on a second listing from another stock batch, for example DF250TX2 and DF250APX2, and we also list a Suzuki outboard package in this category. Ask us which listing is best for your order.
DF250T or DF250AP?
The DF250T is the proven V6 with mechanical controls, ideal when repowering a boat that already has Suzuki mechanical rigging. The DF250AP is built on Suzuki's larger V6 platform shared with the DF300AP and uses Precision Control drive by wire, with Selective Rotation on many models so a single engine can be set for either direction. It is the more advanced option for new installations and multi engine boats.
Shaft Lengths Explained
L is 20 inches, X is 25 inches and XX is 30 inches. Most single engine centre consoles use X; many larger offshore boats and twin or triple rigs on high transoms use XX. Measure from the top of your transom or bracket to the bottom of the hull, and ask us if you run a jack plate or setback bracket.
Boats That Suit a Suzuki 250
- Single engine centre consoles of 7 to 8 metres.
- Twin engine boats of 8 to 11 metres, including catamarans and walkarounds.
- Fast bay boats and performance hulls, often with SS editions.
- Commercial and charter boats that need dependable offshore power.
Why Suzuki at 250 HP?
- Smooth V6 four stroke running with strong mid range torque.
- Lean Burn Control for better economy at cruising speed.
- Offset driveshaft for better balance and a lower gear case.
- Anti corrosion finish for salt water use.
Propellers and Care
Offshore DF250s usually run stainless props chosen so the engine reaches the top of its rev range with a realistic load. Flush every engine after salt water use, change oil, filters and gear oil on schedule, and service twins together.
Frequently Asked Questions
