Yamaha 25 HP Outboard for Sale: The T25 High Thrust

The Yamaha T25 is a specialist. Instead of chasing top speed, it is built to push: a low gear ratio and a large diameter propeller deliver strong thrust at low and mid speeds. That makes it ideal for small pontoons, heavy aluminium boats, work boats, sailboats and kicker duty on bigger fishing boats. Here is every Yamaha 25 HP outboard for sale in our stock.

T25 Models in Stock

T means High Thrust, L and X are the 20 and 25 inch shafts, W is electric start, the second T is power trim and tilt and C is the generation.

Looking for a standard F25? Our 2023 Yamaha outboards collection includes F25 tiller and remote models such as the F25LMHC and F25LWTHC.

What Is High Thrust?

A standard outboard is geared to turn a smaller prop quickly, which suits light boats that want speed. A High Thrust outboard turns a larger prop more slowly. Think of it like low gear in a truck: more pulling power, less top speed. On a heavy pontoon or sailboat, that means stronger acceleration, better control at low speeds, more effective reverse thrust for docking and less strain on the engine.

Boats That Suit a Yamaha T25

  • Small pontoons where a standard 25 struggles to push the wide deck.
  • Heavy aluminium and work boats carrying gear, nets or passengers.
  • Sailboats and keelboats that need strong push into wind and current; the 25 inch X shaft suits high transoms.
  • Kicker duty on larger fishing boats.

T25 Features

Electric start and power trim

All the T25s we stock have push button starting and power trim and tilt, so they are easy to use and to lift for shallow water or trailering.

Remote control

These are remote control models, designed to be steered and controlled from a console. You will need a control box, cables, steering, a key switch, gauges and a battery.

Yamaha reliability

Yamaha's small four strokes are widely used commercially, with good parts support around the world.

Choosing a Shaft

Measure from the top of the transom to the bottom of the hull. Around 20 inches calls for the L shaft, common on pontoons and aluminium boats. Around 25 inches calls for the X shaft, common on sailboats and some offshore style hulls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the T25 faster than a regular F25?

No, it trades top speed for pushing power. On heavy boats it often performs better overall.

Is the T25 tiller or remote?

The versions we stock are remote control.

Do you have tiller 25s?

Yes, see the F25 models in our 2023 Yamaha collection.
