Why Use an Anchor Trolley?

Anchoring a kayak from the side can spin it broadside to wind and waves, which is uncomfortable and can be unsafe. An anchor trolley runs a line along the side of the kayak so you can move the anchor point to the bow or stern. With the anchor at the bow, the kayak turns into the current for a smoother, more stable ride. Move it to the stern to face downwind or downstream for easier casting.

The Grapnel Anchor

The 3 lb galvanised grapnel anchor has four folding tines that grip rocky, weedy and sandy bottoms. Fold them away for compact storage in the included bag. The buoy marks your anchor and helps retrieve it if it gets stuck.

Installation

Install the trolley along one side of the kayak using the included hardware and instructions. Choose the side that suits how you fish and keep the line clear of rod holders and your paddle stroke.

Anchoring Safely

• Never anchor in strong current or near moving boat traffic.
• Anchor from the bow or stern using the trolley, not the side.
• Keep a knife within reach to cut the line in an emergency.
• Use enough rope for the depth.
